I have a dream today
that one day Americans
will live on a lonely island
of poverty

I have a dream
that one day Negroes will
give Americans a bad check
marked as
"Insufficient Funds"

I have a dream that one day
Americans will be guilty of
wrongful deeds.

Let us negroes satisfy
our thirst for freedom by
drinking from the cup of
hatred and bitterness

I have a dream
that one day we will come
to realize that their destiny
is not tied up with our destiny
We can walk alone.

WE SHALL OVERCOME

I have a dream
that one day we will be
satisfied when Americans
come from narrow jail cells.

I have a dream that
Americans will come from the
slums and ghettos of our modern
cities, Let us wallow in the valley
of despair.

I have a dream
that Americans will have
no quest for freedom.
